Thanks. It’s bittersweet as the LR3 took my family on some great adventures —Central Oregon x2, Yellowstone, Idaho, Montana, etc. However, it’s the right move for us at this time and one we’ve been looking forward to for quite a while!

It’s a good question, and one that is worthy of its own discussion thread, especially as JLR begins producing BEV vehicles in the lineup. I think the 300 mile range meets or exceeds the LR3 in low range, and it’s about 100 miles further than mom, my daughter, or I seem to be able to go without a pit stop on the highway. 😂

I’m not too worried about remote travel. I have friends that have already taken their Rivian’s further than most LR ever go. Our LR3 has taken us as far as we’ve ever wanted to go, and I know it could have done more, so I’m not really worried about limitations of a BEV.

If you want to talk more about the pros and cons of these rigs, send me a DM. I’d love to chat. If we ever cross paths, I’ll let you take it for a spin.

Enjoy the Rivian! They seem like great vehicles. My favorite by a lot of all the electric truck designs out there. The Bollingers are looking promising also....

Congrats on getting the transmission fixed too.

Anymore than 200klms from a major city will be useless here without an overnight stop, Australia has roughly the same land size with less than 10% of the population and we all live on the coast so lots of nothing once you drive for 3hrs inwards. Bring on the day when we can fully re-charge an EV in 1-2 hrs with a range of 600+ klms.

This is exactly what is happening to my 2008 RR Sport HSE currently. First time, it dried out after a week and everything was fine. No rain recently, but this morning I got the same message (no rain lately) but the vehicle won't shift. Is the PCB a likely fix?

Was for me, i checked the plugs for corrosion of which there was only a tiny amount but the PCB was fried and was still dead after cleaning and drying it out.
