Transmission fluid
Hey guys
i recently did the transmission pan conversion with the kit and full batch of ZF Lifeguard Fluid from Atlantic British. On first go, the included paper gasket was leaky. So, on second go, I got the Fel-Pro tos18753 and added some more ZF for to replace the lost fluid.
But, I didn’t have enough ZF to top off the transmission. My mechanic says I’m about half a quart low. Ordering more ZF will take a few weeks. Are there any (readily available) alternatives to ZF that I can use to mix with the ZF? I think I read somewhere on this forum that you can combine ZF with other trans fluids. I’d rather not but I’d hate to drive around with a half quart low on trans fluid for 3 weeks.

Ideally you shouldn’t mix two different fluids but add like for like.
As far as I know Shell M-1375.4 is identical with ZF LG6. Similarly Mercon SP is supposed to be identical with Shell M-1375.4. The latter has been used in Ford 6R80 transmissions, that are licensed from ZF 6HP transmissions.
Not the most ideal answer, I know.
