Default Truck won’t start, then does when in diagnostics screen

I’ve been getting a number of crazy error messages lately, just haven’t had time to take it to my independent shop.

Engine light on, suspension error, special programs off, etc etc..

So yesterday, go get in truck and it will not start, there’s power, but it won’t turn over. I was suspecting a bad battery despite it only being 14 months old.

I go back out this morning, with intent of jump starting it, but first wanted to look at the diagnostic menu and see what it said about the battery.
Vehicle wouldn’t start as expected, diagnostics says battery is at 11.5.
Turn the key again and it starts right up. Strange.
Any thoughts, going to get an appointment now but was curious of any ideas.

I would start by checking the connection(s) to your battery.

Default That pesky ground cable may the issue

Make sure to check the ground cable to the battery. Remove the battery and make sure the ground cable is in good shape. It is hidden behind the battery and hard to inspect and can collect a lot of corrosion without notice.

while you are there. pull all of the connectors there and apply dielectric grease to them. (not necessarily related to your problem, but since you struggled to get the battery out, might as well take advantage of it.
