TV's and DVD Entertainment
So I bought it with this stuff in it. But the project started with zero power to the TV's and DVD so I chased the wires looking for a cut power wire and found the hot wire spliced to my loom behind the pass. footwell kick panel. I was looking for a blown fuse behind the glove and under the bonnet but since the splice was arbitrary, it was hard to chase the actual fuse. I started by looking at the typical fuses that might be used the all the entertainment ones and then by going to the fuses I know that an not blown and looking at all the others.
a) I am not a big fan of splicing and aftermarket stuff. Too many gremlins as it is....no need to complicate stuff.
b) found many fuses linked in the Owners manual to Rear entertainment so I want to be sure I am not ripping out stock stuff before I get to the purge.
c) technology has made great advances since this was installed so I would like to upgrade to something a little less cluncky
d) my wife is not digging the "rats nest" effect is having on the under the seat look. I could fix with some creative zip ties but I would know its there too......
e) Not the worst job I ever saw but the whole splicing onto my factory loom when you could have ran a separate hot wire to the battery just bothers me and tells me they were trying to take an easy way out.
I'm thinking of keeping the Tv's if they work, get a DVD player mounted in a better spot and hook up the rig proper for my family to travel happily.
