Upgrading
Ditto on the "...audio level not high enough thru the AUX...". I had to start raising the level to which the music was ripped to my iTunes, so that I could turn the volume on my phone up high enough for the radio to operate without having to turn it to max. It still requires the radio volume to be far to high. ;-(
I still can't believe this day and age with technology that there isn't a way to tap in and have my iPhone work for the audio. I have the same complaint that the Aux is just not loud enough. I don't mind the location of it just wish it was louder.
Using instructions from a prior post, I installed a new Line-in connection just to the left of the left 12v power port. Of course you have to keep a plug in the rear port for it to work...but it works. I also went so far as to purchase a $18 bluetooth unit to plug into the line-in...to prevent having another cord messing up the area. Alas, the volume was no better...no worse, but no better.
I really wish there was a way to install Ford's MyTouch system in my rig. Full bluetooth, full phone capability, navigation thru the use of a SD card and with free updates...all in a 8" touch screen. Aw hell, while I'm wishing, might as well include the wish that it would also control my climate system as well...since it does so in the Fords. ;-)
