Default Using the remote to adjust suspension height

Has anyone programmed their remote to do this? I've been trying to follow the instructions in the manual, but I just haven't been able to make it work. Just wondering if anyone has tricks/tips... Thanks!

I'm not sure if you have tried yet, but if I remember correctly you must have the emergency flashers on and all doors closed to make it work.

Yes I have, but it is not really useful. As the other poster mentioned, once the key is programmed you have to unlock the car turn the flashers on then close the door for it to work.

By then I could have already put the key in and done the same thing.

I find that programming the third button to turn the lights on is more useful.

Thanks for the tips, I just went and tried again and got it to work!

I saw a LR promo video showing the remote being used to lift the vehicle while hitching to a trailer. I just figured I'd give it a try and see if it's useful... I can see myself going back to having it turn the lights on.

Also, an FYI- I installed an aftermarket hitch last night... while it was not as easy as connecting the LR hitch, the $225 savings made it worth-while for a DIYer.

Default your comments about a hitch

Hey - first post here and finding the content very good. I am looking at an LR3 Se(V8 model) and I want to use it as a tow vehicle for my boat. What is the price of the factory hitch vs the aftermarket? I am not a DYIer, so could you comment on what specifically was difficult about the aftermarket install. I have been told that all these vehicles are equipped with the wiring for a trailer - is this true?

Has anyone programmed their remote to open the upper rear tailgate? Mine sounds like it unlocks and moves slightly but never really releases to the point that it frees itself from the latch to raise completely. I have to open it manually at that point.

sully, thats kind of how it works, it hits 'unlatch' and then relatches, and if youre lifting it when you hit that it goes all the way up, if not, it just halfway does it because it isnt moved out of the way of the latch. the same thing happens if you just hit the release switch and dont lift up

Thanks Dave. It doesn't seem like much of a benefit so I will re-program the remote to work the suspension.

Thanks again.
