Default V6 Fuel injector access, cleaning, and replacement.

Is there any way to access the fuel rails without taking the engine apart? I have a lean code on bank one and I've narrowed it down to an injector, Can't find any vacuum leaks anywhere else and I changed the bank 1 upstream O2 sensor out.

After 300k miles I'm sure they need a cleaning anyways, does anybody have any experience doing this on the V6?

There are kits you can purchase that allows cleaning of the injectors without removing them, they connect to the fuel line and you add the cleaner and run the engine till it stops. - not sure of the name, but someone will come by with the name

No, I mean I realize that, I would just love to know if and how someone else removed the rails on a V6. I can find absolutely no information anywhere on the subject.

Oh and I assume your Londonderry is not the NI one?

Intake manifold need to come off to access the injectors. It's not difficult. Just a lot of lines and wire connectors to deal with.

You don't happen to know by chance of any threads where this is detailed on the V6/any other sort of related instruction manual? I'm sure the gasket could use replacing if I end up removing it.

There is an on-line workshop manual that might help you. Do a web search for Land Rover LR3 workshop manual. Once you open the manual look for 4.0L V6 manifold removal. The gaskets for the intake and o-rings for the injectors are the same as the Ford 4.0L SOHC engine used in the Ford Exploder, um, Explorer.
