Vinyl Wrapping
Has anyone done a wrap on an LR3? with the paint and clearcoat fading plus lots of tree stripes from the previous owner I was looking at wrapping the car a forest green. Any tips or tricks to installing the wrap and or good brands to use?
No experience, but have heard to only go with big name brands, like 3M.
LR3s are very flat/square, so that should make things easier.
Go slow, with light heat. Have a friend to help.
Lots of you tubes should get you started - learn as you go?
Could be a fun project - keep us posted!

I’ve talked to some coworkers that have done their own cars and they basically say the same as Doug —use 3M and take your time. Other suggestion is to do it in a garage since any dirt will create bumps under the wrap. This is probably more noticeable with clear PPF.
A benefit to wrapping an LR3 is all the plastic trim. Just pop off all the fender and sill covers and you’ll have an easy time hiding edges of
the wrap than on fully painted cars.

All kidding aside, like douglastic said stay with the better brand of vinyl. Not sure how much you will take it through the trails, but I would choose a solid color verses metallic /pearl/ satin as they may be harder to match if a repair is needed.

Pin stripping? My car wears those like a badge of honor.
