2006 LR3 4.4 V8...

Sorry if this has been hashed about...I am sure it has...
Would someone please direct me to the definitive thread on the subject.
1. Does the fan require removal to replace the pump?

1a.) it looks to me that just removing the accessory belt and the fan pulley will get me access to pump bolts...

2. If the fan must be removed which way do we turn our wrench?? I am facing the grill looking towards the rear of the vehicle.

Sorry for such a nooblike issue but I am old and getting feeble
