Way to disable alarm and still lock vehicle?

I was having this problem with the alarm going off and noticed that the green & red sensor under the hood is now missing the red center part. Is this easy to replace as a female who is only somewhat handy? can still lock my car in the meantime with the alarm blaring? it's a land rover 2018 discovery sport

This is an LR3 thread, nothing at all like a 2018 Disco Sport.
