Default Went Into Low Range On Its Own

2006 160k
Parked over night started just fine the next morning. Green low range light is lit up on the dash. Put it in N hit the switch to go back into high. Nothing! Stuck in low, shifts fine, runs fine. Switch is getting power.

I`m going to check the connections at the TCCM tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

So its mechanically stuck too? Are the rest of the systems aware of the issue, in other words is the car complaining in the message center in any way? Have you tries a rolling gear change, you can switch from high to low up to 35mph I think - I always change when moving.

Otherwise I would say try to disconnect the TC case harness under ht vehicle, check it over, re-seat it. Just doing that may take care of it. If not, can you pull codes?

I can`t even hear the gear selector underneath. Usually I can, so its not even trying. I`m going to try some diagnosing this weekend when the weather clears. ......Hopefully

Good news, tracked the issue down to a bad electrical connection at the harness going to the center console switch panel. Do some mild sand paper and electrical spray. Cleaned the connections up. Good as new.
