Default what is this black tube ?

Hi every1
I changed power steering fluid today. I guess I can almost say I flush it, I will make a new thread to detail my process. For this thread, please let me know what is this black tube ? Its next to coolant reservoir sticking up. I had to pull the bottom tubes out from the coolant reservoir so I just felt like I broke something like this tube. Is this tube supposed to be there?

Photo below.

breather tube for the front diff, and yes that's its normal spot

also, that is the old style cap that is prone to clogging, (there's a TSB for it). Its ~$50 for the new style breather (bent 90* with a better cap), but is definitely recommended.

Takes 5 minutes to do, just cut off the old and slip the new one over the top

part # for the new cap is LR019450

Speaking of coolant, why does your reservoir look totally full?
