The LR is in the shop today for new tie rods and an alignment. Also ordered a WaterPort portable water storage system with sprayer, from Costco. Arrived Thursday but it is intended to be mounted to a rack that has round parts so I will have to fab up something to go on the FR rack. Figured that out and will go the the hardware store for a few parts and work on that when the LR is released from the shop. Fun weekend.
edit: Got the LR back from the shop, drives straight and does not drift left when applying the brake.
See the WaterPort thread for pics of the fab job to attach container to the FR rack.

Worked on sun roof drain tube leak after coming home from a day at the hill. Taking the CJB out was a breeze, re-installing it was a capital B&*CH! Could not get my hands back there to lock the 2 rear plug connectors. A couple of days later and with the help of a endoscope camera, I finally got it in and hooked up. All is well now. Next stop, front air shocks and air block re-seal.

Bolted on a bunch of stuff
First of all, the big project was last week not today but hey, poetic license I suppose. I had an adventure putting on a Frontrunner full roof rack with full slats, a wind dam and a ladder. See how I almost failed Right Here
Today I added a 4G cellphone antenna on a Frontrunner antenna mount and placed it on the roof rack so the Rover can fit in my garage when I am working on it. It may be me but seems like I am doing that a lot here lately, but I am sure Its just me.
I removed the roof wart of an antenna and replaced it with a weatherproof coax bulkhead connector. Since I did not have satellite radio and this 2006 and this antenna would be my new cell phone antenna, no loss there.
The antenna is for a home cell phone/4G internet booster, but I figured with a 120 mph limit I should be fine for most of my travels.
It was a bit larger than the plate on the antenna mount, so I removed the swivel part, added a few washers and reassembled it and it works just fine now.
Here it is in the normal condition
And here it is ready to fit in the garage.
One more form of communication added.
I now have Ham radio HF/VHF/UHF CB Radio, GMRS UHF and now 4G cellular when travelling off of the beaten path.
Jeff

What factory radio was in there before?
What factory radio did you take out?
I have an HSE and it has the 6CD-645 head unit that is tied to the fibre optic NAV and underseat amp.
I regard replacing that unit with anything else suggests a new Nav display and underseat amp and who knows what else - in other words, a major project.
Am I correct of did the unit you purchased have the fibre optic hookups?

Lack of music options with the factory stereo was giving me the ****s so i fitted this Android head unit yesterday, 7" touch screen, GPS, Wifi ,Bluetooth and 32gig storage.
Also added some power sockets to the back of the center console, 2 x 2.4amp USB and 2 x 12V cigi sockets.
