Default Wheel Spacers :: BMW & Land Rover Wheel Spacer Compatibility

Seems to me that the specs of BMW Wheel Spacers are [largely] comparable with Land Rover spec'd spacers... anybody have any experience with using BMW Wheel Spacers on their L320 or LR3?

If yes... which BMW spec wheel spacers have you used?

If not... what are some good models/brands that people have been happy with that are Land Rover specific?

I'm sure someone will answer your question. Most of us advise against using wheel spacers on the LR3.

Ha ha! I definitely know there are many against wheel spacers. And some that are pro or agnostic.

A lot comes down to how wide the spacer is and what wheels you're putting on. That will help determine the additional load you're putting on the bearing/hub.

The question is more about if it's compatible then if it's a good idea.

But I would be talking about a relatively small spacer maybe 10-20mm (maybe 25mm at most!) using an OEM Land Rover or Range Rover wheel... 18" or 20". With a tire size of 265/65R18 or 275/55R20.

Yes, sorry, was just commenting on the idea of it being good/bad/neutral in general. It's really about the details of the spacer and wheel offset.

I don't know about compatibility unfortunately, so I can't be helpful in that regard. If you can't find a spacer that works you can always have one milled too.

If you are just mounting LR wheels, can I ask what goal you hope to achieve by using spacers?

I'm not sure if this is answering your question but I currently have BMW 162 wheels on my LR3 with 265/65/18 tires and I'm running .75 LR3 wheel spacers. everything fits fine and has been working well for 6 months now. It's kinda the opposite of what you did but hey.

FYI, the BMW 162 wheels are excellent and often very cheap. not sure why more guys dont run them. biggest plus is getting rid of those stupid Land Rover Lug nuts.
