Default Wheel Speed Sensor Issue

2005 LR3 HSE, 260,000 km

I am trying to track down a wheel speed sensor issue. My GAP identified a left front wheel speed issue.

P0500-00 (AA) Vehicle Speed Sensor A
C0031-00 (AA) Front left wheel speed sensor
P0501-00 (2F) Vehicle Wheel Speed Sensor A range/performance

I am getting no readings on the live values for the front left speed sensor on the GAP.

i purchased 2 new aftermarket made in china wheel speed sensors.

i installed one and got the same faults, guessing a poor sensor so i swapped it out for the 2nd new sensor. Same faults.

could this be just bad sensors? They are from Amazon A-Premium brand.

can I test the sensors to confirm anything?

im leaning toward a electrical issue but could use some insight from anyone that has experienced a similar issue.

Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

Test to see if you get any voltage on the connector side. Test to see if the ground on the connector is good. The other quick check would be to check the resistance on the speed sensors and see if they are reasonable. You could compare the resistance to the origin. It may be you connector and not the sensor.

Resolved!!!

I found a break in the wheel speed sensor wire on the wiring harness side, right where the pigtail for the connection comes out of the harness.

Now just a few more minor issues.

if anyone has some advise, I would like to hear from you.

-waiting on compressor & valve block rebuild kits to arrive. Still working but throws a fault I have to keep clearing. C1A32-01 (AF) - Right Front Corner valve general failure information - general electrical failure.

-Air bag light B0002-1B driver frontal stage 2 deployment control - general electrical failure - circuit resistance above threshold.

-Intermittent wipers not working, it has rain sensor on windshield.

-random passenger side mirror has a mind of its own and changes the setting.

-headlight washers very very rarely work, I’ve seen it work maybe 4 times in 6 years and only the drivers side.

-windshield electric defrost doesn’t work, never has since I got it.

-think I have a driver door lock actuator issue, just started. Will not lock with remote, but the alarm is set and goes off when I open the supposed locked door.

any suggestions would be awesome.

You might check your wiper motor. I had that problem with my rain sensing wipers, they also didn't park properly but a new motor fixed both issues.
