Default Where else could water be coming from (The Long Going SAGA)

This part of a long going saga.

I completely took apart the CJB, cleaned both sides of both circuit boards in the CJB casing, clean the plastic casing (There was obvious water stains on and in it) Finally got the parts from Amazon to fix the dreaded terrible nipple. So I cut out the old nipple, and guess what. IT WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION. I put it in water with both ends closed off, twisted it around and could not see any leaks.

Where else could the water be coming from? Maybe from where it plugs into the sunroof drain at the sunroof and then following the pipe down the outside and dripping on the CJB?

Going to get a whole new OEM actual Land Rover drain tubes (the Amazon ones are way to flimsy compared to the OEM ones), half way install it so I can get the CJB in so I can unlock the rear hatch and be able to move the seats around and remove the head liner (its sagging anyway and going to paint it) and inspect the drain at the sunroof).

Any other advice where the water could be coming from? Any advice on painting the head liner?

Have you checked the cabin filter for dampness? The most common leak locations are windshield cowl which distorts and lets water go behind it and then drop down into the cabin intake opening. Usually it just gets water inside, I dont think a leak at the cowl will hit the CJB. But the other issue is the external A-Pillar trim. There was a redesign. The update involves covering a couple holes in the metal works. Water gets in there it will mimic the sunroof drain issue.

Is there a specific part number for the redesigned external A-Pillar trim? Atlantic British want $105 just to ship me a new cowling (OUCH). I also plan on making a cover for the fresh air intake like I did my wife's LR4.

Any new exterior pillar covers will be updated but you can modify yours easily. I don’t have the article, but if you search you will see what you need to do. But you will at minimum want new a pillar plastic clips. OEM, not cheap, they break too easily. And 105 is not too bad for a cowl, they used to cost more.

The $105 was just for the shipping. The cost would be $170 PLUS the $105 for shipping.

I ordered one new LR OEM for $200 including free shipping.

Got the new OEM LR front sunroof drain in today and remounted the revitalized CJB in. Tried to start, blinkers went off and other symptoms were immediate, but let it set for about 30 seconds then cranked right up. (Could still be the Instrument Cluster or the CJB is completely bad) Going to keep it in the garage and try a cold start again tomorrow. Maybe everything needed to reset/relearn everything and I am good. Fingers crossed.

I will pull the old cowling tomorrow and take out the ECM and inspect it really good. Plan to get the new cowling by Nov 4th. Will research new A-Pilar trim now and get those ordered.

Ah, I see now. It is a TSB for the A-pillars with a Repair kit to fix the water ingress issue.

DHB500400

Need some new A-Pillar trim to go with the new Cowl anyway. Might as well pic this up also.

Aftermarket a-pillar trims are available and the quality seems really good. I had a few sets pass through my hands when my windshield was replaced three times.

Any particulars you would recommend. I have tried getting ahold of Lucky8 but they seem to be having some issues with their communications. If I have to, I will go with Amazon, but want to be picky and not get junk.

No, mine all came with the windshield. I think even the OEM windshield with the fancy LR logo came with aftermarket ones. I bet only one company makes em and they just get resold as whatever brand.
