Default 2010 LR4 HSE, Hood Latch cable Broken or Stuck

2010 LR4 HSE - Cant open my hood / Bonnet Seems the cable broke or came of at the latch. Handle rotates around 100 degrees. Took the handle off inside and tried to pull the cable and nothing. also pushed and pulled on the hood. Is there a way to open the hood from the outside on the 2010 LR4?

Turns out the cable housing between the left and right side latch had a crack in it. 50 plus days of skiing took its toll. water and Boston snow/salt got in the crack and fused the cable to housing. replaced the cross cable and the cable connector. works fine.

Hi! Do you still check this email? I am having the same problem and have no idea how to get into my Disco4. Any advice?

How did you get the bonnet to pop open? I removed the cable housing and tried to pull on the cable with pliers and nothing. I’ve been searching everywhere but cannot find how to access from the grill.

From my understanding when this issue occurs, you actually access the cable via the left drivers wheel well and have to take off some of the liner. In typical LR4 fashion, I had a coolant leak and had to take it to a shop since I couldn’t get the hood open and also couldn’t drive it anymore before adding coolant. So I didn’t do the repair myself, but they charged me $480 to get the hood open and re-link the cables that pulled apart. No shop supplies so I assume it’s an all labor fix plus maybe a zip tie or something

looking back I doubt it would be that hard now that I know where to attack it from
