While I've been part of the Landrover forums for quite a while with a plethora of range rovers and and one discovery over the years, both in Hawaii and Colorado. Today I bought a 2012 LR4 in Vail. It was modified to be used in a NOAA site in Alaska, but I"m told that COVID postponed the project and I was lucky enough to buy the Landrover. Modifications included a custom roof rack that is designed to handle a 2nd spare wheel and other heavy gear, a rear custom steel bumper with a heavy duty hook configuration to tow arctic gear, hardened coatings on the wheel wells and undercarriage and a frame structure on underneath the rear floor to handle excessive weight. SO different from the dark blue and tan interior offload limousine also known as a Range Rover HSE I almost bought that my wife wanted (it got sold out from under me so I had the excuse to buy this). This Rover is going to be a lot more fun. Until it breaks and the engine fails and door handles start to fall off. I know the drill. Nevertheless, I'm very impressed.
