Default Another Coolant leak question.

LR4 5.0L V8 over 190K miles

This is "She that must be obeyed" pavement princess.

Have been loosing coolant lately. I have never done anything to the coolant system other than the obvious drain refill.

My coolant pressure gauge has grown feet and walked out of my shop somehow.

The coolant going somewhere was very slow for the last month or so but never had any puddles, so was guessing maybe a small leak with the water pump.

Now, we are loosing much more and we are starting to see puddles towards the front. So guessing front crossover.

Question is, since nothing coolant related has needed repair for over 190k, should I just go ahead and do front and rear crossover, new water pump?

Anything else I should consider since I'm removing the intake and water pump anyway? I'm a "might as well replace while I'm already there" kind of guy.

After doing this, should I consider anything other than.

Also, Lucky8 does have the upgraded aluminum rear crossover. Does anyone make a aluminum front crossover as well?

Could you supply the link? The only "upgrade kit" I see on Lucky8's website has just the rear crossover pipe.

Upgraded Cooling Kit for 5.0L V8

I have the LR4 SCV6, and it just went to the dealer on Friday for a coolant leak (no word yet). According to past maintenance history it has had some coolant system part(s) replaced but which one(s) is unknown. Having watched a couple YT videos on the process of changing both the V6 & V8 rear coolant parts, if i were heading into the job of changing the rear coolant pipes myself at 190K I would be changing every single piece/part of the coolant system I couldn't otherwise reach by simply removing the top engine cover. And other than the coolant tank cap and purge valve cap by the battery, that would be every coolant system part. Why chance breakage of some other hose/plastic fitting/part that requires hours of dis/re-assembly after having just done it.

hover the cursor over the words "this kit" in my initial post. it's the link to the Lucky8 kit.

Edit: looks like you are correct. rear aluminum crossover pipe only in that kit. sorry for not catching that sooner.

@cybercop The Scv6 replacement pipes are all aluminum from LR except the rear one. Any LR dealer can give you part numbers

Thanks, but I have the 5.0L V8. I tapped on the front one and it seemed plastic. Maybe I am wrong.

Thanks, appreciate you reaching out confirming. I tried calling and leaving a message with Lucky8 to verify (their new system only allows you to leave a message for a callback) but have not heard anything.

I've had this issue with another potential order with Lucky8. I hope everything is OK over there.
