Bad start with the new idd bt - help
So, at the often referred to advice here in the LR Forums, I too acquired the new GAP-Diagnostics IDD BT tool and it arrived today. I began by reading up through most of the information with of course focus upon the original registration and activation (to which I did not recieve an email from Gap with the pre-determined activation code). After contacting them, they advised me to follow the procedure on pg. 56 of the user manual which is basically to connect via my mobile device, i.e. laptop, tablet or smart phone) which I did using my smart phone with the installed GAP IDD Control App.
I then as instructed, climbed in the vehicle, made sure my iphone was not connected to other bluetooth end using devices, plugged the IDD into the ODB port and waited....yes, it found it finally after about 1-2 minutes, showed me the activation code which I accepted. All the while I never saw any indication in my instrument cluster of it being connected and only saw a message stating "connect UBS device".
Next: My LR4 now won't start at all. Reports low battery condition. I'm stuck in the driverway, blocking my wife (other 2 vehicles which are in the garage and at my wit's end on what to do). I've tried jumping the battery (including following the correct procedure to connect the donor source to the +pos on the battery and a common -Neg ground point on the body but the car still wont start and continues to display a low battery alarm.
I have since realized that Gap Diagnstics does not publish a telephone number where users can call in for tech support and only respond to email during their normal business hours of 8-5 so I've missed them for today and guess I'll be stuck overnight. (somewhat in "panic" mode hoping I've not done something that will be cause for repair to be needed as my closet LR dealer is 262 miles away).
Any suggestions?

Most likely it is the battery. What voltage do you get across the battery terminals? That will determines how depleted it is. If it's too low then even with a booster battery it won't start as the old battery is drawing too much from it
Can you jump it off another vehicle (run the other vehicle before trying to start the LR4). That will give it a lot more juice?
Else it's a battery tender to charge it up which could take a day on a slow-charge
Last idea. Any chance your other vehicles use the same battery? In a pinch you could swap one over and start it that way...

Update. The LR4 has set overnight, locked as recommended by Gap (email correspondence/tech advice); attempt to start it this morning resulted in the same scenario "instrument cluster reports low battery condition) so no joy. I have since disconnected both +/- terminals at the battery itself and connected a battery charger to the battery. Upon connecting the charger it reports the state of the battery to be 12-volts @ 45% so at the moment I have no other choice than to allow it to continue to charge and see if the battery takes a charge.
Note: during the initialization process of the iiD tool, I never got past the point of the iiD tool finding and displaying its activation code being which I accepted and then the iiD tool began loading its scripts. It was during that phase of connection that I received the low battery alarm in the instrument cluster of the vehicle and in reaction shutdown the iiD tool Control app on my mobile device, unplugged the iiD tool from the OBD port and attempted to start the vehicle (which as stated, did and continues to not start).
Maybe its just coincidental but seems odd to me that the battery (which is 23 months in service) failed at the very moment I connected the iiD tool for the 1st time.

Battery failure was indeed coincidental with my 1st use of the iiD BT tool. As it turned out, it was the OEM battery installed when the LR4 was built in Jan 2016 hence, 36 months in service. Replaced the battery (same spec) and all is fine. No BCM error, etc.
