Default Castrol Edge Professional 5w/20

We have a 2010 Range Rover Sport 5.0. It has been dealer maintained up to the time that we acquired in at 58,000 miles. I did an oil change at 62,000 using Mobil1 5w/20. I am reading that the recommended oil is Castrol Edge Professional 5w/20. I found it at Atlantic British and that is it. AB sells a kit of 9 quarts, a filter and drain plug for $147. Mobil1 is around $25 for a 5 quart jug. FCS Euro sells Liqui Moly for $43 for the 5 quart jug and a kit for $90. Does anyone know of a source for Castrol Edge Professional other than AB? Amazon has Castrol Edge Professional but not in 5w/20. The Castrol site is not helpful. I want to do what I can to avoid the timing chain guide issues. If it means using oil that is two to three times more expensive so be it.......Phil

The best way to avoid the timing chain issues is the oil change frequency. 5k changes instead of the 15k. That is your best bet. Otherwise any good quality synthetic will do the job

Castrol is the recommended because that is who Land Rover has the contract with. Liqui Moly, in my opinion, is a way better oil. We actually use Motul's JLR specific 5W/20 because when we opened our shop, LM didn't have an oil that met specs. No that they do, we will likely switch over in 2020.

I checked Liqui Moly. I see a number of different flavors. FCS Euro has some in 0w/20, Atlantic British has Castrol Edge Professional in 5w/30. Amazon doesn't have the Castrol Edge Professional in the 5w/20. It has Liqui Moly but not in the 5w/20. Just what is the correct fluid and weight? Phil
