I have a 10 LR4. I got a console fridge from an 08 Range Rover sport. It is missing the spot for the iPod wire to go through the back of the box. Is that the only difference?

 

I do not have an '08 LR workshop manual or parts list. So I wouldn't know.
But in my current workshop manual, it clearly shows that the usb connectivity is inserted into Cubby Box Lid. Not the Container. ( as is also installed in my vehicle ).
So, why not just reuse your lid and insert the newly sourced container?

The Cool Box is a standalone component, installed on the circuit:
Fusible link 18E (Battery Junction Box -> Fuse 59P (Central Junction Box). I suppose there is nothing stopping you from inserting a wired (and fused) connection to the CJB, as there is no dependancy on any other system.
