HDC, DSC, EBA, ABS, suspension drop etc etc etc
The engine has been running for nearly an hour. No warning lights but loads of faults - all comms errors except:
B11DB-87 (28) Battery monitoring module - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message
( on 23-01-2022 06:59:02 at 61666 km )
P115A-68 (28) Low fuel level - forced limited power - Algorithm based failure - event information
( on 23-01-2022 07:11:37 at 61666 km )
P0700-00 (2F) Transmission control system (malfunction indicator lamp request)
( on 23-01-2022 06:59:02 at 61666 km )
P0501-81 (28) Vehicle speed sensor A range/performance - Bus signal/message failure - invalid serial data received
I don't see any obvious connection between these. Any ideas please?

According to this document

It could be this harness fuse which is blown. So, I looked for the part in question LR030454 and find that the price is 2000 dollars !!!!
Surely they are not serious??

If you are thinking the BMS fuse is blown, there should be an easy way to check continuity (disconnect from power first). But that service bulletin says the battery charge lamp will be lit, not the engine light. Based on your codes, the engine light is being triggered by the transmission control module error. I think all these errors you posted could be the result of a comm system failure. I’m not able to give much help in diagnosing that kind of problem. Maybe someone else will chime in.
Did you have any work done on the car recently? Anything at all. Also, I recall someone on this form or landroverworld.org had an issue where a rat chewed into the wiring behind the battery box. You’re in a garage, so less likely, but can still happen (I get them in my garage occasionally - particularly if its cold out).
As to your question about the battery, if the alternator is delivering, then I believe the battery is charging. I think the BMS controls the output on the alternator, not the delivery of charge to the battery. If you want to be sure, just run the car for a while then check the battery voltage. Won’t take long to run the battery down if the alternator is not working. I don’t think there is a way to do this with the gap tool. It will show battery voltage, but won’t tell you directly whether it’s charging or not other than just showing 14v+. The other way alternators can fail is at the diode - they’ll pump energy when running, but then drain it when the car is off. Not sure if that’s helpful in your case.

Thanks very much for your reply. No work done on the car at all.
A TCM issue sounds expensive!
I am going to have to bite the bullet and ask the local LR garage what they recommend as well as asking some Bosch service centres who specialise in car electrics (so they say..)
When I switch on the ignition and before starting, the red battery light is on the dash ' a rectangle with a plus and minus sign) but goes out immediately when the engine starts. I *think* this is normal behaviour?

Yes. It was the steering angle sensor had a badly seated contact plug so I unplugged it, cleaned it and reseated it. It is located under the steering wheel and you can access it simply by removing the panel under the wheel and putting your hand in. naturally LR had no idea and their diagnostics, along with their 'technicians' are useless. I sold the car btw
LAll of the problems like this are related to bad contacts btw
