We just bought a 2012 LR4. The windshield was leaking, so the dealer we bought it from replaced it. All seems good, but I’m pretty sure the previous windshield was heated and this replacement is not. I had a Pilkington Optikool previously. Was that heated? I feel like it was, but the dealer is telling me it was replaced with the same type of windshield.

 

Do you have the switch for the heated windshield?

 

I do. But dealer is saying the original windshield might have been heated, but the Pilkington that they replaced was not.

 

I do have the heated windshield button. But what I'm trying to figure out is if the Pilkington pictured above was heated. That was the one that was leaking and that they replaced. We only had it a few days, so I didn't pay close attention to whether it was heated or not. The new windshield they replaced it with is a Fuyao and is not heated. They are assuring me that they replaced the Pilkington with the same type of windshield.

 

The heated ones are easy to see since there are hundreds of wires vertically in it. No wires, no heating. You really can't miss em. But if you have the button it should have shipped with one. That does not mean that it was replaced with a non-heated at some point by a previous owner. Unless you have been the only owner. All the glass on mine is optikool.

 

All these guys have the same Pilkington glass as you and they are heated.

I just checked mine on a 2011 LR4 HSE LUX...it's the same and definitely heated..I'm in Canada..lol
