HELP! Massive coolant leak
It's fixed....
Ok, it was so simple, so easy...
Got a new pressure tester today and found the leak immediately...
Pump #3 which replaced pump #2 last year due to a leak inside the pulley, also met the same fate, leaking from inside the pulley...took me 2 weeks to figure this out. Ugh...

Pump #1 was OEM, failed and replaced in warrantey, pump #2 OEM failed last year, pump #3 Eurospare failed after about 15 months, pump #4 Eurospare fitted today still working...
Seems they last approx 50K miles.

In my books, that's a poor reflection of oem quality.
@guy you probably already know there's a few jag forum member's who've been through multiple pumps, isn't Ted in the X150 threads on pump #5 now?
When part numbers are superseded some assume a revision, I think. In actuality it could be a revision, or supplier change, or just a change in numbering. For water pumps, I'm only aware of one design revision and that's from a 3-piece body to a 2-piece design and that happened fairly early on.
And get ready for this, my wholesale supplier at the main dealer informed me JLR have just begun changing ALL part number to a new numbering system and have yet to provide main dealers with a cross reference.

Its these short sited decisions by the engineering and business staff to JLR, that are its worst enemy.
I still laugh out out every time I think about the scv6... having 8 cylinders...
