Installed ceramic brakes on my LR4, they still smell after 3 months. Normal?
Hey - I installed Akebono LR055454 Ceramic Pads for 2016 LR4 last fall. They still smell like they are burning at times. Does anybody have experience with ceramic pads on their LR, or with the Akebono pads in general? Normal, or should I investigate?
For reference, I installed Hawk Ceramics on my 911 5 years ago and they are awesome. No brake dust and still fine after 60k miles. I wanted to try the same for the L4. They've definitely eliminated the brake dust and no change on the bite. But they smelled and smoked when I first got them, which I read was "normal" as they bed in (even though I dont recall my Hawks doing that). I still can smell it from time to time.
Any experience appreciated.

I tried the Brembo NAO ceramic and they lasted less than a year to bare metal and made more dust than genuine pads but no smell. Replaced the Brembos with Carquest Platinum ceramic and have done over 70K miles and they're at about 50% wear. Still make dust but less than OEM. No smells.
