please keep us all posted. my 2010 lr4 has the same issue with the iPod starting over at song 1. I have been in for multiple updates to address my surround cameras as well and nothing to this point seems to have addressed the iPod issue. there is also a software issue with the rear seat entertainment system. when you have the monitors on in the back, the rear seat passengers cannot control any of the radio, cd, iPod functions. the minute the monitors are turned off, they have full control. I am still waiting for a fix on that too.

well, I got my car back from land rover dealer today...
they updated the software and gave me a new ipod cable to try, BUT with NO luck at all, ... the new ipod (6th gen.) will not work on our LR4. (it will not be charged)

The new land rover and jaguar got new ipod interface - ipod USB
they replace the old ipod interface with new ipod USB
So the final conclusion is to keep your old ipod, and try to find adapter from the old cable to ipod usb, it might work.

and wait till the Iphone 5 comes out. Word is everyone is having trouble with the lightning connector.
