Default License Plate Lights

I just noticed that one of my license plate lights is out. Do I need just need a bulb or should I replace both whole housings, and where should I get one or both? I see some aftermarket housings on Amazon for $14 a pair, and at British Atlantic for about 10X that- huge difference!

I am not picky about whether they’re LED or incandescent bulbs, but I don’t like the blueish colored LEDs (white is fine). If they were the same price I’d likely go for incandescent.

Get incandescent, no need for LED. I'd just replace the bulbs, not the whole housing unless it is damaged. It's a common bulb, part # 2825

Thank you, good to know I don’t have to toss the whole housings.

would you mind letting me know where I should buy the 2825 bulbs? I don’t see them on Atlantic British. I see a Sylania set of bulbs on Amazon, or am I looking for oem LR parts from the dealership?

thank you

That's a Sylvania part number, not official LR. I wouldn't buy a common item like that from the dealer or Atlantic British. You can get them at any auto parts store or on Amazon.

Good information. Mine aren't working either. Are these easy to replace?
