Lower control arm bushings
I have a loud knocking / clunking noise when I drive my LR4 over bumps and potholes. Apparently the bushings on the front lower control arms need replacing
Anyone had this done - and what's the likely cost? Seems like a common issue on LR3 but not seen it discussed here for the LR4s

It is becoming more common on the D4s as well.
We offer several options.
1) Many people just replace the whole arm assembly as it is easier than pressing out the old bushings and pressing in new ones. This option also gets you a new ball joints on said arms.
2) Some people remove their old arms and replace with stock bushings.
3) Some people remove their old arms and replace with polybush. Still tough to press out the old ones, but the PB go in without a fight.
I personally recommend Option 3. I did the PB in my LR3 and they are still in and going strong 80k miles later. You may also want to consider getting replacement hardware depending on where you live and the condition of your current stuff. Here in the NE we more often than not are using a sawzall to remove the old stuff, so we need to replace with new.

FYI likely cost you asked about, I have been quoted (twice: once in CA, once in VA) approximately $1100 to replace front lower control arms, including labor. I imagine cost should be the same for both disco 3 and 4
Been meaning to get this done actually.

I saw your post and since I am getting mine done tomorrow (LR3) you may also want to have them check the tie rod ends. Mine needed to be replaced, as well as the lower control arms.
What was the added cost to do the tie rods?
Don't know exactly yet. It had to be done and I always use this mechanic so I told him to go ahead and do it. I pick it up this afternoon so I'll let you know later what that part cost. He said it wouldn't be much since he would already have it apart to do the LCA's so it is mostly the part cost and very little labor.
We sell both sides for $130/delivered. Shouldn't be much more since they are already down there tearing the truck apart. Make sure they get the proper ones as there was a VIN split for these on the LR3
His cost on the tie rods was $71 and change each. Labor wasn't broken out for those as he did this, the LCA's, checked all the fluids and also ended up replacing the serpentine belt which had a crack.
