LR4 2013 brakes
Hi have any of you burned through brakes at an abnormal rate? I’ve had 3 sets in almost 6 months and I’m not sure if it’s me and the way I drive ... I’m a lil east coast, not gonna lie... or it’s that my mechanic isn’t installing them right ?!
Any insight would be welcomed!
Thank you

I should know that right?! Not sure ... but maybe a couple 1000 miles on each. Felt like the first set failed and the second wasn’t on long at all and they just changed them again today, all four each time. He said they were blue and showing signs of being very hot as in overheated.
He hasn’t charged me but I’m just getting suspicious if they are installing them correctly.
i think I’m going to take it to another shop in town to check out the install and make sure all is well.
Maybe its it’s just the way I drive it cause it is a tank.

How are you driving it? Are you even bedding them in after install? If they are overheating, they are not wearing out but they are glazing. Which means little breaking power. Maybe stop driving like a [insert any word of choice] for a month and see what happens. You can not really install these brakes wrong. I mean I have seen some messed up stuff, but no way a repair shop would mess up that much.
I had no idea what bedding was, so looked it up. Also looked up glazing. No one ever told me to bed the breaks, but I will do that for sure! thank you so much for the guidance. I'm sure this is exactly what's been happening!!
You need the brake system checked. And the traction system which can brake wheels when it thinks they are spinning. Something definitely not right. Do you accidentally rest a foot on brake pedal while driving?
