Default LR4 brake pad recommendations

My front pads are worn and I now need to spend some money on brakes. The dealer is saying $300 for the front pads and sensor (parts only)... Is there a cheaper option or even a better option at the same cost that's non OEM since I'll likely put these on myself? Isn't it standard practice to turn the rotors because the dealer's quote didn't include this for some reason.. Anyone out there with LR4 brake experiences

Factory pads are usually a brand called Jurid. Textar makes good pads as well. If you can find somebody selling either of these pads, you will get OEM quality for half the price.

Rotors don't get turned on these, or just about any other Euro car. The rotors seem to wear faster and the wear limits are real tight. I rarely see a rotor with over 80K miles that isn't at or below discard thickness. If they are not warped or are thicker than the "discard" thickness stamped on the rotor, you can re-use it.

Porterfield makes pads for the LR4 as well. Good brake pad company. I use an aggressive version of them on my M3 race car.

I have a pair waiting to be installed when my current pair need replaced.
