LR4 & Lamin-X
With the painted fender flares on the LR4 vs. my old LR3 I noticed the paint takes a beating on the front of the rear fender flares. I took a ride by Lamin-X last week and they made a template from my LR so they can sell precut pieces of paint protection. They are going to install some heavy duty clear film on it this week so I thought I'd post up in case anyone else is interested. I've used their films on many of my cars and it has proven to work very well. I use it on the headlights and hood of my race car and they take a lot of abuse than a street car. Anyway, here's a pic of what it looks like now. It's hard to show it in a pic but if you feel it with your hand it's as if it was sandblasted by road salt. On second thought, it was. Without this film it's going to look like hell in no time.

The film is now installed. In these pics you can really see the sand blasting the rear fender takes. I wish I had done this when it was new. They told me the part will be on their website soon.
