LR4 overheating issue
We always use OEM, I think it’s Behr, but not sure.
it’s up to you. Generally non OEM don’t last as long.
I would expect a shop to charge an hour or less. Usually we are doing them as a part or overall repairs, so combined it would be less.

And OEM is not necessarily the same as OE!! (Ever wonder why, what appears as the same tire is more expensive than the OE equivalent!!??) Ditto for ZF parts... Bosch parts, ...
Given the code P0483... are you certain motor mounts are good? If the engine drops at all, this will affect the operation of the fan.
Even then though... you had an Inde work on your cooling system. Yikes. These engines are notorious for air pockets if not filled and bled correctly.

Not 100% sure on motor mounts to be honest.
I think my next step is to have the fan/clutch mechanism replaced and see how it goes. I'll have them check out engine mounts while there.
Thanks for the advice.
I would assume that this would not be covered if it is a fan issue as they did other cooling system repairs, did not do anything with fan. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
OK, please forgive my ignorance and further questions. After doing further reading, I thought the serpentine belt always moves when car running, and this is what makes the fan driveshaft spin. The fan does not need to spin when at low temps, and the fan clutch is what engages the driveshaft making the fan spin when the temps get higher. So isn’t a spinning driveshaft with no spinning fan at low temp proper behavior?
I freely admit my idiocy when it comes to mechanics, so I’m not tryin to call anyone out here. My LR4 is halfway between going to junk yard and getting fixed, depending on who you ask. My wife prefers junkyard, I would like my daughter to drive it a few more years, but only if I don’t have to dump $$$$ into it. I’m hoping a simple fix will get me there. So all my questions are just to try to resurrect this truck without breaking the bank.
They always spin at some speed, albeit slow. A non spinning fan is an issue. To confirm, buy a used fan clutch and swap your fan blades onto it. If you can't find one, I've got a few.

thank you!
Just got it looked at, bad fan clutch and water pump. Quoted me 7.5 hours labor. Is this reasonable?
Also, I replaced crossovers once, but still plastic. Would I save labor costs by replacing crossovers now while “they are in there”? How much more labor would be estimated for that?
