I've replaced the pump multiple times and the fuel filter as well as the software update. Each service eliminated the P0089 at least for several tens of thousands of miles. I reckon these parts don't last long. Also Continental pumps seem to fail on other marques as well, not limited to Land Rover...

Default New Battery

Coincidence or not, i’ll take it, a new main battery fixed the fault code for my 2015 LR4. It’s been out for hundreds of miles after being on for months.

P008A-07 (28) Low pressure fuel system - Pressure is too low - General failure information - mechanical failure
At 174328 km

P0089-64 (28) Fuel pressure regulator performance - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure
At 174328 km

I wish it was that easy. I think swapping the battery just cleared your codes

You will likely need to bite the bullet and drop the tank to swap the pump. It's actually not that hard a job, if you have a lift it's actually pretty easy. Just need to run the tank down to empty to eliminate the weight and mess.

I had cleared the codes multiple times with the GAP tool, they would come right back!

I bought a used 2016 and have put a couple thousand miles on it, it has 120,000 miles on it and had a lot of work done by the dealer to sell it to me. I have CEL lit and an AutoZone code reader which sees P008A. Low pressure fuel system pressure, says most likely fix is to replace the fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor.

The tool shows Fuel Pres 2856 psi fwiw.

The check engine light comes and goes every day or two. It runs really well so far but when it comes time for state inspection if the light is lit I'll have to have it fixed. Hopefully it's not too costly of a repair. Seems like if it were serious the light would never go off and it would run rough but I dunno...

I have been dealing with this for the past year. I haven’t replaced the pump yet.

Plot twist: my CEL only appears if the ambient temp is about 78 degrees or lower. It stays off all summer long.

I'll add another plot twist, within a month of filling up at Delta Sonic my CEL has gone off and not come back on for three weeks. Prior to that I was filling up consistently at Kwik Fill every week and the CEL would come back on every day or at least every other day. I was once told by a guy at the service desk at my local JLR dealership to avoid Kwik Fill because someone in the past had some sort of issue they evidently traced down to that.

When he told me that I was having intermittent stalling issues with my new Defender at the time which they never did get to the root cause of but I filed away the whole KwikFill thing as BS because I was filling up at a variety of places. Now though, I'm really wondering if maybe there IS actually something to it. What would be different between premium fuel at KwikFill vs premium at Delta Sonic?

My doesn't care what fuel I put in. It's purely related to the ambient temperature. I have no idea why. This CEL did show up a few months after the fuel tank recall like pretty much everyone else. My working theory was that when the bonehead JLR techs (I have many reasons for calling them that) do this underpaid warrantee work, they carelessly replace the ring letting all kinds of dirt drop into the tank then slap it back together.

But, that doesn't explain those who have replaced the filter and pump after the recall work and still have the code. It also doesn't explain why it's temperature sensitive.

I refuse to throw a fuel pump at mine without having a better idea of what the root cause is. It runs perfectly. My D2 problems seem so much more manageable compared to this LR4.

@Chief65 I can not speak to those gas stations, but off brand stations here in BC used to give my D2 issues, most notable terrible gas mileage and less power for the same OCT rating. I put down to crap in the tanks and filthy filters in the pumps, as well as poor quality gas.

The effiencies of a modern fuel injected engine demand high quality, with detergents, fuel.
Anything else, good luck.
