LR4 Signature LED
On a new used 2011 LR4, I, too, wanted just the LED's on during daytime. The only solution is to click the headlight control to the first stop to the right. That's the LED's only on the headlights and taillights, and the side lamps. Those would make more sense than running the headlights all day. The LED's will probably live well past me, and the headlamps, not so much.
The car will beep softly if you forget to turn them off when you exit. You can leave them on, because in Europe, on skinny streets, people leave them on all night so as not to be sideswiped by traffic. My 1971 BMW and 1975 Volvo had this feature, too.

I just picked up a 2010 LR4 and am wondering the same thing. Currently the low beams (xenon) and the LEDs are on during the day. I am sure this is the "Canadian" DRL setting. I would prefer to have the LED only as the DRL. The dealer may be able to change the setting from Canadian DRL and enable the LED only during the day. The new to me rig goes into the dealer in a few weeks for an inspection before the warranty expires. I will ask at that time.
