Exclamation LR4 Vibration at speed problem

I have an LR4 with 45k miles. I am getting a body vibration at high cruising speeds on the highway, 70-75 mph. The vibration is not coming from steering column, seems whole body is shaking. I slipped into neutral, no change. Accelerate, no change. Turn left/right slightly no change. If I brake and reduce speed the vibration reduces but does not disappear entirely. After couple of minutes and braking/accelerating the vibration goes. I had the wheels re-balanced and that has not solved the problem. I am mostly driving freeways.

Any suggestions appreciated. Dealership is going to try and investigate early next week. Its recently had a 45k service with no problems.

wheel allignment, maybe wheel bearings, control arms usually go bad but only noticeable at slow speeds over bumps.

Failing front control arm bushings will cause steering wheel vibration at higher speeds as well, I had the same issue, this fixed it. Call Lucky8, they have the best deal on LR4 lower control arms for the DIY'er.

Check park brakes for complete release.

x2 on the control arm bushings. The LR4s have a tendency to beat them up pretty well. Is your Rover still under factory warranty? It's nice free swap at the dealership if you're still under coverage, otherwise as stated above, Lucky8 is a good resource.

***EDIT: Just realized you had stated the vibration is NOT coming from the steering column, which makes the control arm bushing scenario less likely. In which case, I would guess wheel bearings. Obviously your dealership will have a better guess once they can get it up on a lift and start tugging and torquing on your truck's underbits. Hopefully you still fall under warranty as that makes fixes like this so easy.

Default Vibration

I have the same problem. It’s not wheel bearings or balancing or any kind of wear on the suspension as it clears after a minute or two. Any ideas?

My 2005 just started doing the same. Driving along nicely on the highway and 60-seconds or so of shaking and rattling. First few times I pulled over to check for stuck brake pads or damaged tires. Brakes (including parking brake shoes) were replaced and the tires are new. Shaking still happens once every week or two. Any other suggestions?

This all sounds like Electronic Parking issues that I've been experiencing. Look at my thread in the LR3 section. Drivetrain vibrations don't go away, nor do tire balancing issues. The self engagement of the EPB on the other hand...

Does it happen just before shifting to another gear?
