Need Help!
Hello everyone! i have been browsing the forums for a while to try to find some answers to my issue and have had no luck so I figured I would post about it. So here is the back story. I ended up Selling my LR3's and Found a LR4 for dirt cheap, the guy i bought it from said it had a missfire after replacing the battery and he couldnt figure it out so he parked it. Anyway i went and looked at it and it was super clean and straight but it sat for 8 months, i trailered it home and put a battery in it and it did start and definitely had a miss, but it also sounded like it had a knock in the top of the engine.as well as when it was running it sounded like something was bogging it down. i have torn it down to the timing chains and its in time and has the updated guides and tensioners and i can rotate the motor. im kind of lost on what to check next, i did borescope the cylinders and didnt see any contact with pistons indicating valve contact. when i turn it over by hand it does feel a little sticky in one spot though. Any ideas on what to look for or what i should try next? i really dont want to pull the motor but its looking like i may have too at this point.
I had a guy that works on land rovers for a living get in contact with me and oddly enough he had a LR4 in his shop with the same thing as what mine was doing and ended up being an injector. Im in the process of putting it all back together to be able to get the Codes and go from there.
