Default Need new key

Just double checking is the 2016 LR4 a factory only key for replacement? The only other owner before me who was leasing the vehicle.... decided to keep a key as memento so we only received one.

yep. each smart key is programmed to the car. If you need the Skeleton key it needs to be ordered as well. I just recently had to get a new smart key made. be prepared to drop close to 500 bucks.

Thanks, yeah we've called the dealership as well as other places. Wanted to see if I could avoid $500.

Jeffh, is asking right, each smart key is programmed to the car. I recently leased a car Land Rover Velar P250 S and I got Skeleton key.

I just programmed a used key fob for my 2013 LR4 using the Gap IID BT tool. This may only work with keyless start, but I'm not positive. Might be worth checking with GAP. The price for a new key from dealer was $396, plus programming of about $150. The GAP tool just paid for itself. I paid $50 on ebay for a used fob. I do need to get the skeleton/security backup key cut still if anyone knows where I can get that done at.
