New LR4 Owner
I Left the dealership with a 2013 Base in white. I also drove a 2014MY with the scv6 to compare.
i honestly couldn't tell any power or torque difference between the 6 and 8 cylinder. I suspect when I'm towing my 6000 lb RV, there would be a slight (very slight) difference with a performance advantage in the V8.
I went with the 13 because I like the looks better, and it was equiped close to exactly what I wanted. The 14 was a little more optioned, but the dealer was much less flexible on the price (not a dime). It wasn't an easy decision though and I think the 14 w/ heavy duty package is still a very capable machine. The 8 speed did shift noticably more (duh) and wasn't any smoother or faster shifting. If they had the 14my with the same equipment for close to the $51000 I paid, I'd have gone with the 14.

Welcome aboard! I am not sold on the '14 super charged V6 either. It has 10% less torque and HP then the V8. All that nonsense is to meet US fuel economy standards for the Land Rover/Range Rover product line. I believe they are merging the line with Jaguar to smooth out the numbers.
Enjoy - the white looks great.
