Default Oil Level Check

2015 LR4 HSE. Found out how to check oil level but first time i had just run the engine for about two minutes and it stated NO INFORMATION on the dash, apparently because engine was warm. So, i waited until next morning before starting to check oil level and got an OVERFILLED indication. So is there any other way/process to do the check, or do I just need to drain some out? TIA

To get a proper measurement you need to make sure that:

1. the engine is at operating temperature
2. the vehicle is on level ground
3. the engine must be off for at least 10 minutes, or you will not get an accurate reading.

Aye Cincy -

Was level (in garage), but had sat for several hours and was cold. Tried this morning and it stated it was OK at full mark. Will make next check after a run and letting it set for the 10 minutes.

Thanks for info.
