Oil level reading not available?
I went on a road trip this week and decided to check the oil level/tire pressure before embarking. When I popped the oil to pull the dip stick I was surprised to find there was no dip stick! I then felt like an idiot searching YouTube to find out how to find the hidden dipstick to check the oil on my car only to discover there really isn’t a dipstick at all! You have to check the levels using your digital gauge behind the steering wheel.
When I pulled up the oil level setting on my car’s display, however; it told me the levels were not available. I thought maybe when I opened the cap I disturbed the pressure or something which interferes with the sensors??? Idk, I’ve tried checking a few more times since then and it still doesn’t display. Any car wizards out there have any idea what’s going on?

No need to raise the hood. the manual says to check oil (using the vehicle info sreen) when the engine is warm and the car has been stopped for 10 minues to allow the oil to drain back down into the oil pan. if you check too soon after shutting down it says "oil level not available". just wait a few minutes. you can also check before you start the car, but the level will look lower with a cold engine.
