So my 2015 LR4 now only opens the tailgate when the vehicle is off. It used to open the tailgate when the vehicle was in park, but that doesn't work anymore. When the vehicle is in park, the smartkey doesn't open it.

Has anyone else had this experience? Sometimes I like to leave the vehicle on and open the tailgate if I'm dropping something off. Debating whether I need to take it in, and the instruction manual is no help.

Call the dealer. There is a way to reset/reboot the car using the keyfob - kinda like shutting down / restarting your iPhone. I do not recall how to do so, but I remember fixing a pesky door module by doing so.

 

Buzzybee - did you ever get this resolved? My hatch works 50% of the time.
