Just bought our 4th Land Rover -- used 2012 LR4 -- having had two Disco2's and a LR3 previously that served us well.
On the way to register it we started hearing banging in the rear and soon the upper plastic rear 3rd brake light cover with washer emitter popped off. My assumption is that it was compromised by the first/original owner who appears to have caulked it on, given it looks like there are missing tabs that secure it in place. The gentleman I purchased it from had only owned the car 4months and fixed many small cosmic things.
That said, I need help identifying what the heck this thing is called (e.g. a part #) and any info concerning whether it matters if it comes from a LR3 or LR4, and/or off a 2012 specifically?
As far as I know it’s supposed to be glued in place. Getting it off in one piece, like you’ve got it, is a minor miracle. Most people have to destroy theirs to replace.
