Default Radio hard buttons and Driver side window controls

All,

I have a 2012 LR4 HSE Lux. It has about 89k on it. Just recently my radio control hard buttons just stopped functioning and also my driver side window controls stopped as well.

I checked the under hood and under dash fuses and they all seemed to be in order. I will check and verify them again once I get it home in a few days.

Has anyone else had this or a similar issue? I also noticed that when I had the door open while checking the fuses the radio would display that the batt voltage was low and would shut off in three minutes. It has had no starting issues and the voltage is good when it is started so I am not sure if it is a generic warning or not.

Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.

Vic

Hope this message isn't too late!

I had this exact same problem. Same car (2012 HSE Lux). Same buttons and door panel. A fuse kept blowing after an hour or so of replacing. I couldn't figure it out, and I never would have myself after learning what it was that was shorting the fuse.

Believe it or not, there is a pump in the drivers seat lumbar support that was faulty. So any time I sat my fat *** in the seat for an extended period of time, it would blow the fuse. Bizarre. But I was glad it wasn't anything more serious like the computer.

It may be different for you, especially with your strange door bug. I never noticed that on mine, but wasn't looking for it. Something is shorting the fuse, though, and it may not even be the fuse that you think it would be.

Funny things, these Land Rovers.

Good luck.

Default I think you're right!

I eventually found the fuse and replaced it. That worked but it blew again and I replaced it so it is working now. Yes I can tell there is an issue with the lumbar support on the drivers seat.

What did you do to fix it? Or are you just constantly changing the fuse?

Unfortunately this went beyond my DIY skills, as the entire pump had to be replaced. Had to take it in. You can probably save yourself a bunch of money on the diagnostics fee since you know that it's the lumbar support, though. I want to say it was something like a $200 part
