Have 2016 LR4 and trying to install OEM wiring harness for towing. Got the harness installed in the car but cannot figure out how to remove the rear bumper cover for the other part of the harness.

Looking for instructions and possibly diagragm on how to remove the bumper cover.

 

I did not have to remove any part of the bumper. Wiring went thru grommet inside left rear taillight, all was accessible thru rear compartment behind taillight. Had to remove spare to pull wires down to hitch. The cover over the hitch is removed with a flat screwdriver or nickel.

 

My wiring kit from Land Rover came with a plastic mounting bracket that holds the connectors from the car to the receiver area. The only way to attach that is to remove the bumper cover.

How does the wire snake up into the rear lamp area, there was some kind of weight and a heat shield in the way.

 

In the rear left is a compartment. Feel down at the bottom of cavity and you will feel a rubber plug. Remove left rear taillight and you will see it easy. Remove plug, go under and you can see where it is. Pull wires thru over frame and tyewrap in place and pull grommet to cover hole and make it watertight. Pull up spare, replace light, put compartment cover back in place. Takes less than a 1/2 hr. with the right kit.
