Default Replacing suspension height sensor - is it DIY’able?

Getting fault code - front left height sensor general electrical failure. Cleared code w/ GAP tool, comes right back. My indie rover shop says likely need to replace the sensor.. I also have Johnson rods in. 2016 LR4 for reference.

Can anyone tell me what’s involved in changing it? Seems like a plug and play part from pictures of it.. google search hasn’t yet turned up anything LR4 specific. I’m quite comfortable w doing all the auto work - just not sure if there’s something to this that makes it complicated.. does ECU need re program, etc..

Thank you!

I am not a professional technician. But I did build my first car from boxes…. as that’s what my father gave me… a car in boxes.
And I have been playing with vehicles since… for 40 years.

I have learned with JLR products that the software tools from JLR are paramount. Generic code readers typically are not enough. Additionally, a majority of the modules requiring ”pairiing” or “flashing”. Typically not so “sensors”.
(On the xjr, I would constantly be adjusting the ride hieght for the season, through sdd)

In short, I’m subscribed to see the answer. But also It would be FREAKIN AWESOME if a download link for the workshop manual were provided by someone …

Very DIY. Just make sure you ave the correct sensor for that corner. You will also have to do a height calibration after install. And I will note that it could be wire damage, not the sensor, especially if running larger tires and one failed to move some wiring..... mainly in the driver front well which is where your error is.

Ok - job done.. confirming it was definitely one of easiest DIY projects. Didn't even have to jack up car/remove wheel (just turning it to full chock gives access to sensor). Easy 2 screws and a connector cable. Replaced in about 10-15 min. No re-calibration necessary.. Upon starting, suspension fault gone and all suspension adjusted to right height.. height control now works again as it should.
