So I pulled the trigger on an Android/Carplay box to input thru the OEM system on my 2015 LR4 HSE. All I can say is JLR really engineered the dash panel clip-in system in a way that ensures nothing will rattle - EVER!! Well at least it seems that way. After watching the young guy in the GTACAR KITS ( https://www.gtacarkits.com/product/wireless-carplay-and-androidauto-integration-for-land-rover-lr4-2012-2016/) [I bought mine thru Amazon] I thought how hard can it be. Well, first panel off both clips went to the ether-world. No biggie, lots of clip replacements on Amazon. BUT the next two panels -- left & right of center console -- gave me a hard time. The regular small plastic tool doesn't even come close. Had to break out my bag with the big tools. And pull. And pull harder. Began to think I'd have to hire the twenty something muscle bound beach boy down the street! Good GOSH!! And oh by the way, they don't bend/flex the way the kid in the video does!
Long story short, got connections made and all seems to work well. Then came the dinner bell and I had to drop it the way you see until tomorrow. I'm going to extend the USB & MIC input cables either to the top cubby or the console. And there is an RCA jack for extra video input so I'm thinking I may run a camera up to the front of the car. Also have a 360 DASHCAM system comming in tomorrow so that will round out the upgrade.
System works out of the box without any headaches/setup issues. Hoping it stays that way for a few years as I don't want to ever have to try getting those dang dash panels off again! LOL.
I am looking at doing the same thing to my 2015 HSE lux. I like that this company provides an install video. Some of the other companies are super vague about installation. Let me know how it all turns out!

Working it today. Routing a front cam wire right now. EXTENDED USB/MIC ports to upper cubby with OEM.
Upgrade Completed: Everything working as advertised. Android Auto/IS Carplay work just as they do on devices from the LR4 Screen. Quite pleased with the system and functionality.
