I have bee researching sliders and rear bumper spare tire carriers. I came across Bearmach. They have sliders and bumpers. I haven't heard much about them. I have seen quite a bit of Tactical Rovers Voyager Prospeed etc.
Does anyone have any experience with their (Bearmach) products?
I have the Bearmach sliders with Prospeed compressor guard on my LR3. I love the sliders.
Definitely not as much coverage and overall strength of the tactical. They are heavier duty than the Terrafirma sliders. If you are looking for the absolute most protection possible, go tactical. But, they are very heavy and have to be removed to access the compressor.
Bearmach bumper, for the 3/4, I think it’s ugly. I have installed a Voyager “short” and Frontrunner swing away carrier on stock bumpers. The Voyager is cheaper, but I think the Frontrunner is worth the $. More sturdy and better latch system.
We have a pallet of Bearmach sliders coming beginning of next month, can probably get you a better deal than having them shipped from Bearmach to you, depending on where you are.
I would be a little concerned about the exposed bolts on the bottom edge of the sliders getting chewed up.
yeah, that was my original concern. I talked to a guy with TF sliders, they have the same bolt situation and he said he had one get mangled but just had to remove and replace. Definitely a trade off, less protection for lighter weight.
I like the look of those. Man how are you guys finding these? I feel like I have been searching and only came up with a few. I didn't know there were this many out there.
My concern with the kick out sliders is that with as heavy as the LR3 is how will the hold up coming down with that step on a rock?
Will it act like a lever and bend up pinning the doors?
I do like that style though and the step would be nice lol
I have a set of Voyager Sliders on my LR4, with the tree bars.
I've come down hard on them on more than once occasion. Never an issue of strength or integrity.
I've also used them to balance on a rock, with either wheel being off of the ground... no issues.
