Transmission crossmember remove and replace
Hello members. I hit a large rock with the transmission crossmember which bent it up about 1/2" so it's rattling against the transmission. My mechanic said he could put in a new one, but no one sells a replacement which means going to the junk yard and dropping one from a hopefully straight framed donor. I have called RoverLand parts and they are checking as well, but my question is about removing one myself in case that's what it comes to.
I've not been able to find any decent information or videos online for this procedure. My mechanic said it looks like you may have to drop the front of the gas tank shield to get to two of the bolts on the passenger side of the frame. Does anyone know if that is truly the case.
Does anyone have some guidance on this? Hoping it's pretty straightforward, but I assume there's a catch somewhere in the process.
Thanks as always!

Probably no videos because it is simple to swap. Just five large main bolts and if a gasoline engine a brake for an O2 sensor sorta near the middle. And that is not a tank shield per say, it is a tank cradle. If he wants remove bolts the tank needs to be supported because it will come along with the cradle. But there should be no need to, the two bolts at the fuel tank come out towards the front of the truck. The nuts are kinds tight near the tank but it should not have to be dropped as the two forward cradle bolts do not mount to the transmission crossmember itself, they mount to the transmission crossmember bracket that is welded to the main frame. Overall a pretty easy job. 30 minutes assuming the bolts are not rusted in place.
