Transmission woes
2010 LR4 just over 100k miles, recently purchased, drives fine most days. Have put about 1500 miles on it. After sitting in traffic or just slow moving in the city, once on the highway when the trans goes for 6th gear it will occasionally go into limp mode, if I pull over and cycle ignition off and on it usually goes away and all is well. This has happened about 4 times, sometimes takes a 2nd cycle of ignition before it goes away. As far as transmission service goes, did not see any completed on the limited records I have. Can anyone point me in the right direction here ? Thanks

You would need to check the codes.
A Trans service might help, but at the point that it is acting up, usually mens new trans.
You might get codes for solenoids, which is tricky. Most people think that if they change the solenoid, problem solved. Unfortunately there is no code for worn bushings in trans, so it might report a solenoid, but chances are it is not that.
With that said, Another mechanic did the solenoid thing recently and it actually fixed the problem.
So, you can do a service- $650-$1200
If codes for solenoids, change solenoids- Approx $1200
Or go straight to trans replacement- $5-$8K
